Campbelltown Mall Goes Green!
Campbelltown Mall has taken up the challenge to include an Environmental Policy into all aspects of our business. From long term planning, like installing rainwater tanks underneath the new car park extension, to everyday initiatives such as the installation of energy saving lights in the Centre.
And these are environment saving measures that you can mostly do at home.
One of the Centre's big achievements to date is being recognised as an official 'Green Power Customer', with 10% of our electricity purchased being ‘Green Power’.
Green Power is renewable energy supplied by electricity retailers who meet stringent environmental auditing and reporting requirements under the National Green Power Accreditation Program. It is available to households and businesses around
When a customer buys Green Power from an accredited retailer, the amount of energy they pay for is sent from approved environmentally friendly generators into the power supply, creating a cleaner overall mix of energy sources.
The Green Power tick is a guarantee that an organisation has met auditing and environmental criteria in its use of Green Power and is helping to facilitate the installation of new sustainable energy projects in
At Campbelltown Mall we recognise that a commitment to the environmental sustainability takes time and is an ongoing process. It is our goal to set an example, and encourage the Campbelltown Community to embrace these measures in their own home.
Some examples that you can implement at home include using reusable shopping bags, installing water-restricting devices, using energy-saving light globes and appliances, and have a general awareness of the environment with everything you do.
