Our History
Campbelltown Mall first opened as The Mall Campbelltown on July 30, 1984. It included a Target and Australia’s 100th (and then largest) Super Kmart. The Mall Campbelltown was a part of the New World Development executed by the NSW Department of Decentralisation. This New World Development also saw the historic houses row on Queen Street (just outside Campbelltown Mall) paved into a pedestrian mall.
The Centre was purchased by Perron Investments in December 1998. It was this purchase that saw the change in name to what it is still referred to today; Campbelltown Mall.
Perron executed a redevelopment in 2000 which saw upgrades to the Queen Street forecourt, the foodcourt and the southern car park entrance.
In 2001, Campbelltown Mall received some modifications such as a conversion of the original Franklins to a Woolworths and an upgrade of the toilet and parents room facilities.
2002 saw the Lower Level mall widen on the southern side near Kmart. This widening included a relocation of some stores such as The Newsagent and Lowes.
The Centre went hard into redevelopment works again in April 2003 with a major expansion of the Lower Level and other extensions on the Upper Level southern entrance. This redevelopment welcomed Franklins returned to the fresh food precinct as a new anchor tenant, Best & Less were introduced as a mini major and 12 new specialty stores were created.
The Centre’s Upper Deck car park was extended in 2005, and added 234 additional spaces as well as creating undercover parking for the entire Lower Deck.
Current Status
Campbelltown Mall has completed its most recent redevelopment which has seen the relocation of the foodcourt and some existing retailers, an additional 40 new specialty stores and the relocation of Woolworths from the Lower Level to the Upper Level.
Campbelltown Mall is an established shopping centre, and has grown with the community. Although large enough to be categorised as a regional shopping centre, Campbelltown Mall possesses the retail offering and community qualities of a sub regional shopping centre.
Campbelltown Mall has a strong market hold, offering high quality shopping centre basics, but above all Campbelltown Mall offers exceptional customer service.
